Welcome to the editorial cartoons section.
It is frequently said in our profession that you must choose either to report the news or write commentary. To my way of thinking, that is like asking a news reporter to deny one's own thoughts. If one of the most famous journalists of all time, Edward R. Murrow, may offer analysis and write "This I believe" essays while still reporting the news, so too can anyone else.
All that is needed is a clear labeling of which is which.
Just as Walter Williams
believed and wrote in the Journalist's Creed, "I believe advertising, news, and editorial columns should alike serve the best interests of readers."
So, like Murrow, then, let me clearly label what I think as different from what I report: what follows are my editorial cartoons.
. . . . . . . . . .
I hope you enjoy analyzing and questioning my cartoons as much as I've enjoyed making them.
